Lindores Abbey

Located in the Lowlands of Scotland the Lindores Abbey Distillery is nestled near the River Tay in Newburgh. This distillery is a little gem with a rich history of distillation that goes back to 1494.

This was a quick stop on the way to Blair Athol and the first distillery stop on the journey.  It was easy to find located on Abbey Road just off the A913. The tasting room and visitor area was welcoming.

The history of the Abbey is displayed within a long corridor detailing the first registered official distillation by the King. The tasting room was accommodating where samples are available from whisky to aquavit.

Highly recommended as it is a short drive from both St Andrews and Edinburgh.
